DON'T MISS THIS COLLECTORS ITEM!

ALBUM-APPLE# PAS10004 - this is the UK first pressing  released on the 8th October 1971 - complete with all the inserts supplied when originally issued.

There are many copies of this iconic album but if you’re looking for a first pressing you will do well to find a better copy than this one.

The sleeve has just a few small spiders in the laminate overall and this 1st press comes with the ‘pinched’ spine in strong condition with all lettering fully legible - EXCELLENT condition.

The vinyl has a beautiful sheen and has barely been played and weighs in at a hefty 150 gms. Even under bright light the only defect I could discover was a very faint paper scuff on the album’s final track ‘Oh Yoko! And there is absolutely no spindle wear so I would rate this copy as NEAR MINT. The run out groove on side 1 has YEX 865-1U matrix and PORKY etched. Side 2 has YEX 866-1U matrix and PECKO etched. Both labels are MINT. I have played the record once to ensure there are no defects and even on the ultra quiet passages there is minimal surface noise.

First pressings also included the printed inner sleeve with credits and full lyrics. This was quite a flimsy affair but this copy has no rips, splits or tears, perhaps just a hint of age yellowing. This copy also comes with a large (33"x22") poster of John at his white grand piano printed on heavy art paper and taken by Peter Fordham - this is in great condition just having the original folds, no pinholes or sellotape marks! Finally to complete the set a small postcard which depicts John holding a pig ( another dig at Paul McCartney, being a parody of his "Ram" album cover ) - this is in MINT condition.

Grading Guide:

"MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler."
