Description

Absolutely gorgeous original 1961 first pressing mono copy of the famous Jazz Abstractions LP, presented by John Lewis as volume one of his Contemporary Music series, on Atlantic 1365. Original plum & magenta labels. Abstract avant-garde jazz with third-stream textures, composed by Gunther Schuller and Jim Hall, featuring the playing of Ornette Coleman, Eric Dolphy, Bill Evans, Eddie Costa, Scott LeFaro, and so on. This copy is just beautiful. The disc is very nearly pristine and plays near flawlessly. There are maybe a couple of moments of very light crackle, but barely. Really this copy plays just gorgeously. The cover is likewise almost pristine, with only a corner bump at the upper left, but that's it. Otherwise almost mint. This is a truly top, stunning original copy, hard to beat.
