Description

JOHN MARTYN

LONDON CONVERSATION

UK ISLAND PINK RIM ALBUM FROM 1967

ILP-952  MATRIX: A-2U / B-2U

EXCELLENT CONDITION

This highly sought after first album by John Martyn on Island features mainly self penned folk tracks. It predates the more typical opium slurred folk rock of Solid Air & Inside Out. Featuring tracks such as Ballad Of An Elder Woman, Cocain and Rolling Home it also finishes with a suberb version of Bob Dylan's Don't Think Twice. It reportedly cost only 158 quid to make but certainly helped establish John Martyn as a unique folk artist who would go on to produce some truly fine albums.

Postage is by recorded delivery, packed in professional record mailers with stiffeners.

PLEASE NOTE THE POSTAGE WITHIN THE EU IS £7.00. OUTSIDE THE EU AVERAGES £10.00 BUT PLEASE ASK FOR SPECIFIC PRICE BEFORE BIDDING.

On a personal note, I am British and having relocated to Greece I'm forced, reluctantly, to part with my vast record collection in order to finance our charity for stray animals (we feed and provide medicine to over sixty animals every day and need to raise money to keep going). Virtually all albums are UK issues, from the sixties onwards and many are genuine first pressings. Keep an eye out over the next few months as I'll be posting some great albums for sale.
