Description
John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers - 'John Mayall Plays John Mayall'. Originally released in1965 on the Decca label this is I think a 1968 pressing still on the red Decca mono label (there is no flipback to the sleeve and 1965 date is actually under the label track listings). Album was recorded live in December 1964 at Klooks Kleek.
Catalogue Number is LK 4680.
Matrix run outs on the end wax are ARL - 6711 - 4A and ARL - 6712 - 2A..
The sleeve / cover is generally in nice condition with the front laminate all intact. The exception is some cracking to the spine which visually appears minor but which has actually caused very small (mm only) cuts / piercings into the spine. This is undoubtedly the worst defect - otherwise there is just a little dirtying and ringwear to the back cover with a small area of staining to the bottom edge.
The record has a really good sheen. When viewed in strong light there are several faint marks and one much more noticeable one on the first track of side 1 (although more visible I should emphasise that this is not feelable. I have played both sides of the record (it was good to listen to it again) and really there is only occasional minimal surface noise - this includes the first track with its mark as mentioned. There are no clicks, pops etc that I noticed and really the record plays very nicely.
The labels are very clean with minor evidence of spindle marks.
The record comes in I think the correct Decca label poly lined inner sleeve which is in nice condition.
I would grade the record as a clear EX. The cover is made difficult by the problems outlined - I have toyed with VG but given the spine cracking will be cautious and grade G+ (please look at photographs to make up your own mind).
Until recently I had not sold records on eBay for a good while but my previous feedback ratings do I believe show me to be a reliable seller. I recently listed half a dozen records from my own collection (I know that everybody says this!) and as it went reasonably well have been listing several more. Due to the current situation I only wish to sell within the UK however - my apologies to anyone abroad whom might have been interested.
UK postage is therefore £4 (signed for).
