THE VINYLS PLAYING SURFACE LOOKS VERY NEAR PRISTINE IN MY OPINION! NEAR MINT AUDIO IN MY OPINION  EARLIEST (((STEREO))) ORIGINAL! AWESOME!!(no) loud CLICKS, (NO) POPS, (NO) DISTORTION!! CRISTAL CLEAR ON ALL FREQUENCIES! VERY RARE TO FIND 41 YEARS OLD LIKE THIS!!

 Please note! It is very rare to find these early 39 year old stereo pressings like this! The audio plays almost as new on my system! Stereo pressings have very slightly closer\shallower  grooves than mono pressings and it is imperitive that these vinyls do not have scratches as they tend to sound and produce ticks or clicks, where as with mono pressings of this album it is possible to get away with the odd surface scratch without effecting the audio! I can not over emphisise that this vinyl plays through almost as good as it gets on my syatem on all frequencies!

This album is a unique article , in that it clearly shows John Mayalls musical progression over a period of five years: It is also a collection of past single releases material and in just 11 sellections ,the changing patterns of the band musiscians are brightly outlined and highlighted, the work of......JACK BRUCE :::: ERIC CLAPTON ::: ROGER DEAN :::: AYNSLEY DUNBAR ::: MICK FLEETWOOD ::: PETER GREEN ::: KEEF HARTLEY ::: DICK HECKSTALL - SMITH ::::: JOHN MCVIE :::: MICK TAYLOR::::::

John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers are a pioneering English blues band, led by singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist John Mayall, OBE, that has included such luminaries as:

• Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce (both later in Cream),
• Peter Green, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood (later all in Fleetwood Mac),
• Mick Taylor (later in The Rolling Stones),
• Don "Sugarcane'' Harris  Harvey Mandel Randy Resnick, Walter Trout, Larry Taylor (later in Canned Heat),
• Aynsley Dunbar, Dick Heckstall-Smith Andy Fraser (Free), Chris Mercer, Henry Lowther, Johnny Almond and Jon Mark (later of Mark-Almond)!!.

The Bluesbreakers were formed in January 1963 with an ever-evolving lineup. Eric Clapton joined in 1965 just a few months after the release of their first album. Clapton brought the blues influences to the forefront of the group, as he had left The Yardbirds in order to play the blues!!.

The group lost their record contract with Decca that year, which also saw the release of a single called "I'm Your Witchdoctor" (produced by Jimmy Page), followed by a return to Decca in 1966. The album Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton, also known as The Beano Album, was released later that year; it reached the Top Ten in the UK!!!.

Clapton and Jack Bruce left the group that year to form Cream. Clapton was replaced by Peter Green for A Hard Road, after which he left to form Fleetwood Mac. Finally, in 1969, the third Bluesbreaker-guitarist departed when Mick Taylor joined the Rolling Stones. He would soon be replaced by blues guitarist Kal David!!.

By the time the 1960s were over, the Bluesbreakers had finally achieved some success in the United States!!.

With some interruptions, the Bluesbreakers have continued to tour and release albums (over 50 to date), though they never achieved the critical or popular acclaim of their earlier material. In 2003, Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor and Chris Barber reunited with the band for John Mayall's 70th Birthday Concert in Liverpool — the concert was later released on CD and DVD. In 2004, their line up included Buddy Whittington, Joe Yuele, Hank Van Sickle and Tom Canning, and the band toured the UK with Mick Taylor as a guest musician!!.

The Vinyl

This is the original and heavier and thicker\deeper grooved type of vinyl only found on these early UNBOXED DECCA LABELD pressings!!! Later press were much more flimsier and less robust!!.

On visual inspection the vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and still retains its original sheen from new and looks awesome i can I can barely see a blemish at all on the playing surface!!!. Any marks that could possibly be seen under a strong light would be sleeve removal marks only (no) needle or audio sounding marks at all!   

The Audio Quality

I have played this through track for track AT VERY LOUD VOLUME ON A TOP SYSTEM,  The audio is awesome cristal clear and vibrant through out and plays like new!! Please note! VERY IMPORTANT,,, With (no) signs of distortion or any signs of grooveware! This plays with (no)  clicks or pops Any static crackle is isolated and minor only in between tracks or in very quiet places only. So rare for a  vinyl that is 42 years old!!!!! 

This would benefit from a constant clean before each play as this has been stored in a case for more than 25 years and build up of dirt and dust over the years contribute to any static crackle and would be consiquently minimised after each play!!  please note This audio is clear and vibrant on all frequencies I would class myself as highly critical! Please look at my completed listing of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right!!!!!PLAYS ALMOST LIKE A NEW VINYL TOP! TOP! AUDIO SO RARE LIKE THIS ON STEREO!!!!!LOOKS  AND SOUNDS BARELY PLAYED IN MY OPINION!! 

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have given my honest opinion when describing the audio quality of this album and those who know the listings and vinyls that i sell my prime interest is the audio quality!!! Please allow for the odd isolated static crackle\tick not consistant  through out the audio! This is a genuine (not) reissue vinyl that is 42 years old and would have been played on a system that is 42 years old!

The labels

These feature the unboxed decca logo (only 1st press) Also these DO NOT feature the familier decca  circular groove! This along the JT tax stamper on the run off grooves at 12 oclock to the matrix, indicate that the materials used to press this vinyl was from a very much ealier date ie. pre 1962 (believe me this is a very rare 1ST pressing) If any tax codeing should have been used the k.t would have been in line with the correct date which also ceased in 1969 These labels are in superbe condition There is very minimal spidering which can be seen in strong light but no major spindle ware the hole is perfectly round (in my opinion this has not been over played  (looks and sounds barely ever played in my opinion!!!! superbe audio) ''Made In England'' text is featured (UK pressing)!!!!! 

The Record Sleeve

This is the original BLUE (STEREO) DECCA sleeve (no) splits or tares light creasing very near perfect just a little staining\fading with age only!

The cover

This is the original  1st press laminated  gatefold cover laminated by Clairifoil made by Celanese Limited and printed by Clout & Baker ltd (only 1st press with the original die cut hole at the rear)   This is strong and straight as it should be and an absolutely  superbe example! Please note only when scrutinised I can see a small split at the rear top edge begining , any creases or storageware is extreemely minimal (see photos) there is light laminate lift at the rear near the spine (common on these covers) ! original!SUPER GLOSSY in apperaence This must grade at least excellent if not much better in my opinion!

Point to note! This cover has been stored in a case for more than 25 years!, with the vinyl seperated from the cover to prevent any ring ware!!! This is how I have always stored my vinyls!
