Description

Up for auction is a nice original pressing of the John Prine album Diamonds In The Rough, originally released in the U.S. on Atlantic Records (SD 7240) in 1972:
-Guaranteed original pressing, not recent reissue -Original 1841 Broadway NY address on labels
-AT/GP George Piros mastering etched in deadwax -Original matte textured cover -Original lyric sheet insert -Original and date correct Atlantic inner sleeve (very rare!) -No UPC/bar code on cover -Vinyl comes in poly audiophile protective inner sleeve
Note: Original pressings of this album have the GP George Piros mastering mark in the deadwax, indicating it's a superior sound quality pressing sought after by collectors.  Most copies of these album on eBay are reissues!
Condition: Cover is in great condition, no significant signs of wear or age.  No ring wear, no seam splits.  Corners are sharp.  Former owner's name written in upper right corner but it's hard to see (see photo).  Otherwise this cover looks beautiful, close to new. Grade: Excellent (EX)
Vinyl also looks great, still retains its original glossy shine.  There is only one small scratch on Side Two at the beginning of Track One, which causes a few noticeable clicks for few rotations--really not that distracting.  Otherwise, this album plays beautifully, clean and clear--just a hint of factory pressing noise in quiet passages.  Labels are clean, no marks around spindle holes.  Looks like this record has maybe been played only a couple times but handled with care. Grade:
