Description
JOHN SURMAN John Surman Original 1969 UK LP on Deram DML 1030 Mono.
This is Surman's legendary first album release and finds him both doing more conventional numbers like Sonny Rollins's Carnival on side one, and then blowing up a real storm on the second side with his own numbers Incantation, Episode and Dance. It is easy to see why he became one of the few UK jazz musicians (with McLaughlin and Holland) in the 1970s to gain such respect in the USA.
