Description
JOHN TAVENER - " CELTIC REQUIEM (REQUIEM FOR JENNY JONES) ", Apple Records (SAPCOR 20) 1971.
Very rare 1971, first UK issue of the very rare LP by Tavener released on Apple Records.
Featuring Gatefold sleeve and " SAPCOR 20 A-1U / SAPCOR 20 B-1U " matrix numbers.
Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve (original inner kept with it too).
CONDITION:
VINYL = EXCELLENT- (No big scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, just a few light spindle trails, etc. Looks perfect in normal daylight, but under a bright grading lamp I can make out a few very light marks visible on the vinyl's surface - although none of these correspond directly to any audible defects. It plays well - free from interuption from distortion, clicks, pops, etc... Would have been a straight "EX" on playback alone. Overall, although it is not quite perfect, it is by no means ruined by these tiny visual imperfections and would still make a good honest copy for someone to play and enjoy.
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)
SLEEVE = V.G.++ (No massive creases, defacing, etc. But I have had to mark it down for light general wear to both front and back covers, more noticeable wear to the edges and corners and a tiny tear on the top right corner of the front cover. Also, the back of the sleeve is not sitting perfectly flat - see photos for further clarification
NOTE: I must point out that we are actually a long standing physical record shop, with many decades worth of selling, trading and grading records under our collective belts. Unlike so many of the jokers now selling records on ebay, we know how to grade records. Before bidding, please read my description carefully, decide how much this record is worth to you and place you max bid accordingly. Please also feel free to check out my feedback from the many other successful transactions I have made in the past.
ANY QUESTIONS? PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO GET IN TOUCH!
HAPPY BIDDING!!!!!
