Record: EXFolsom Prison looms large in Johnny Cash’s legacy, providing the setting for perhaps his definitive song and the location for his definitive album, At Folsom Prison. The ideal blend of mythmaking and gritty reality, At Folsom Prison is the moment when Cash turned into the towering Man in Black, a haunted troubadour singing songs of crime, conflicted conscience, and jail. Surely, this dark outlaw stance wasn't a contrivance but it was an exaggeration, with Cass creating this image by tailoring his set list to his audience of prisoners, filling up the set with tales of murder and imprisonment -- a bid for common ground with the convicts, but also a sly way to suggest that maybe Cash really did shoot a man in Reno just to watch him die. Given the cloud of death that hangs over the songs on At Folsom Prison, there's a temptation to think of it as a gothic, gloomy affair or perhaps a repository of rage, but what's striking about Cash’s performance is that he never romanticizes either the crime or the criminals: if anything, he underplays the seriousness with his matter-of-fact ballad delivery or how he throws out wry jokes. Cash is relating to the prisoners and he's entertaining them too, singing "Cocaine Blues" like a bastard on the run, turning a death sentence into literal gallows humor on "25 Minutes to Go," playing "I Got Stripes" as if it were a badge of pride. Never before had his music seemed so vigorous as it does here, nor had he tied together his humor, gravity, and spirituality in one record. In every sense, it was a breakthrough, but more than that, At Folsom Prison is the quintessential Johnny Cash album, the place where his legend burns bright and eternal.
Note: All unsealed records are cleaned on a VPI machine.
Grading: Cover/Vinyl (double LPs cover/vinyl/vinyl etc.)
NM: Both cover and record are like new
EX: Some slight wear to cover (As described in some detail in the listing). Record: Nice gloss. A few visual marks on the vinyl, but very light in nature that do not affect play.
VG+: The cover may have minor seam splits, ring wear, cover wear, small sticker tears etc. On the vinyl there may be visual marks (e.g. light scuffs, hairline scratches). There may be some intermittent, light surface sound.
VG: More wear on cover and more wear on record (multiple marks). May be some repetitive light ticks or occasional pops but record will play without skipping or sticking.
VG-: The cover will have seam splits (possibly taped repaired, but only with scotch tape. No duct tape or masking tape repairs. May have some magic-marker writing. The record may have some deeper audible scratches. There will be some clicks and pops, more consistently than that of a VG record but record will play without skipping/sticking.
G: In essence, the cover will look pretty much trashed. The record will have heavy wear, deep scratches and very apparent surface noise, clicks or pops.
Note: LPs are graded visually and conservatively under bright lights. Those with questionable marks are play graded

Should a buyer feel the product received does not meet the stated item description, a full refund including return postage will be provided. However, please kindly describe the problem to me. Buyer must first contact me to make arrangement for return shipment. I will provide refunds after receipt of the record and re-inspection. I am not financially responsible for mishandling of parcels by the postal service.

Shipping and Handling (I ship worldwide).
· All LPs come boxed carefully in mailers made specifically for LPs, with cardboard filler pads on top and bottom to protect the cover/record.
· The LPs are housed in clear plastic LP sleeves.
· The LP is removed from cover (except for SEALED LPs) for shipping to prevent seam splitting.
I will notify you by email when your parcel is packed informing you of the shipping date. For foreign shipments that are delayed, I will be glad to supply the customs form number for your parcel as proof that it has been shipped.
United States: Media Mail: One LP - $4.00. Each additional LP - $0.50.
Canada: 1 LP $16. All mailers with more than 1 LP will be weighed and the fee will be based on cost to Canada.
Rest Of World (Everywhere except USA, Canada) : 1 LP - $24 (This is 1st class international shipping). All mailers with more than 1 LP will be weighed and the fee will be based on cost to your country. Over 1 LP please email me for combined invoice with weighed shipping quote for your country. Mailers under 4 pounds are shipped 1st class international. All mailers over 4 pounds must be shipped Priority international.
