JOHNNY CASH ‘GREATEST!’ SUN RECORDS 1959 US PRESS OWN SOME MUSIC HISTORY! VG+ G+.
I have decided to continue to thin out my collection and let go albums where I have lots of albums by the same singer / group. This group of albums focuses on the Country / Americana section of my collection. I love Doc Watson, The Louvin Brothers and Hank Williams but simply have too many of their albums. The Louvin Brothers are possibly less well known but I discovered them in an Elvis Costello interview when he said how much they had influenced him and they are definitely worth investigating.
I’ve cleaned all the albums carefully with ‘Vinyl Clear’ but they may benefit from a clean with a professional machine.
I have long-standing very strong feedback so hopefully can be seen as a trustworthy seller. I pack carefully and dispatch the morning after the end of the auction.
I’m not seeking to make a killing on postage, so am happy to combine postage up to 2 kgs (2nd class small parcel).
Please contact me if you have any queries.
This one is the superb 1959 album on Sun Records ‘Greatest!’ by Johnny Cash. It’s a really heavy US pressing and sounds fab with all the freshness that you associate with Sam Phillips and Sun recordings of that period. I would grade the vinyl as VG +. As can be seen in the photos the cover has kept its shape but is worn with some discolouration. Like most US covers of the time the top and bottom have a tendency to split. The bottom has already been cellotaped and the top has a split to the right that can be seen in the final photo. I would grade the cover as G+. Nevertheless these are superb historic recordings so don’t miss out.
Happy bidding!
