Description

This is a rare true first 1959 pressing of Johnny Cash's Songs of Our Soil LP on Columbia 6-Eye CS-8148. True first press with yellow lettering on the front cover and no CBS on the top of the labels. Despite the general love for mono, the stereo of this record is absolutely amazing and blows the mono away. And the first pressing sounds a lot hotter and louder than the later pressings. Really a great copy, too. The disc is excellent, with a little tiny touch of sleeve scuffing, but it plays beautifully, with only the faintest distant crackle between a few songs. The music is unaffected and plays perfectly. This is a superb sounding copy. The cover, also, has very little wear. Very minimal edgewear in a couple of places but almost mint. A beautiful original!
