Description

One Saturday morning in 1963 i arrived at work in Weedon, Northants as a 16 yr old apprentice motor mechanic to find that Johnny Kidd's yellow FORD ZEPHYR with a souped up engine had been towed in with the big -end bearings knocked out. A short time after the groups Transit van arrived and the Pirates piled out desperate to hear a radio. I was able to tell them that their new release had just been played on Brian Matthews 'Saturday Club'  programme and voted to become a hit. When Johnny himself came to collect the repaired car i managed to find a scrap of paper and asked him to sign for me which he did.
