Unique mis-pressing, rare Bolan Psych/Beat classic JOHN'S CHILDREN - DESDEMONA RARE PICTURE SLEEVE, EX+/EX Up for sale here:
John's Children - Desdemona, in rare original picture sleeve. Influential 60's rock/psyche group featuring the song writing and guitar playing of a young Marc Bolan. Famous for thier outrageous live sets this single was banned by the BBC for the line 'Lift up your skirt and fly'. The group achieved little commercial success and only released a handful of highly sought after singles (see my other listing for a copy of the very rare 'Just What You Want' by the group, also up for auction this week).
This copy has an usual pressing fault which may make it completely unique! As you'll see in in the photographs here the centre hole is punched correctly but the three cut-outs for the push-out centre are completely misaligned. I must stress that this IN NO WAY affects playback and none of the text on the label is lost, making this a true collectors curio. Catalogue no. 604003 on Track records, 1967 UK 1st Press.
Condition: The disc grades as EX+. Superb clean vinyl. Labels are clean, almost no spindle marks. Comes in original Track picture sleeve, a tad discoloured but no writing, rips or tears, overall grades EX also.
