JOIE BOEKE ~ This is Joie (Superior Records) USA This is a speacial one indeed, and is really going to be a delight the day it arrives into the hands of the collector who loves obscure "real people" fragile & dreamy female folk private pressing lps. The girl sounds about 16 or 17 years old, and the lp and truly has the mid 1960s teen garage folk ..recorded in the high school band room sound. Joie wrote all of the songs on this gem, and delivered them beautifully. The following liner notes give further insight to the nature of this wonderful LP ..... Happy is the word that I am today! The more that I sing for people unexpectedly, the more rewarding it is for me. A song I wrote a few weeks ago was about what the world thinks today...tragedy and death more than happiness, what will happen to innocence - the young -- a smile ...makes the world so right! Joie Boeke is a special person with a very special gift. Her songs are fragile but they possess a strong kind of charm, unique but not so unusual that the eloquence of her simplicity fails to speak. This is joie - young and sensitive and in love with being alive. The record appears to have been played rarely, as the old flat-black lable shows no spindle marks at all on side 1, and only several faint ones on side 2. Still the record grades VG++ due to light signs of wear from the paper sleeve.
The jacket shows average signs of wear, with no seam-splits ... and would grade VG+
************************************************High bidder can be sure that this lp will be well packed in a thick square edged record mailer, with the record seperated from it's jacket to prevent any seam-splitting in transit. (unless the record is still sealed) If it is still sealed, I will pack it snug to keep it from moving around. If you wish me to open it, please let me know.
