ITEM: " Jolly What! - The Beatles & Frank Ifield on Stage " LP. Original Deep Groove, Black Vee-Jay Records label, catalog number VJLP-1085, MONO.
This LP is a COMPILATION album of several songs by The Beatles and Frank Ifield. However, Vee-Jay made an error when printing the back cover, and states "It is with a good deal of pride and pleasure that this COPULATION has been presented". ( I think this was an error, but can't be positive...the Brits had some rather unusual customs back in the '60's).
COMMENTS / CONDITION: This LP came from a private collection. It is not a beat-up LP bought at a yard sale. The record was visually graded, and was spot checked test played. Please see the attached pictures for the Track Listings.
Grading is according to Goldmine Standards. If you are not familiar with that system, please go to the Goldmine web site and read the grading details BEFORE YOU BID.
Vinyl is in VG+ Condition, retaining a nice glossy luster. A close inspection shows a few light scuffs/hairlines that are cosmetic, and do not interfere with the listening experience. There are no warps, cracks, chips, deep scratches, or groove wear. On my older system, all short segments that were spot checked played with crisp, clean sound quality. No harsh surface noise, skips or groove lock (repeats).
NOTE: Sound quality will vary from system to system. The above comments are included strictly as reference, and are not a statement as to the experience you may have with your equipment.
Labels are in good condition with no peeling edges, rips, or writing. Spindle tracks are visible, but center hole remains perfectly round with no signs of abusive playing.
The cover is also in VG+ Condition, with noticeable shelf wear/chipping to the corners/edges. A small 1.5 inch split has started in the right bottom seam corner at the opening edge. There are no bent corners, writing, stickers, labels, or price tags. Cover colors remain crisp and glossy, with no fading. Spine is firm and straight and is easily readable. This is not a cut-out - there are no punch holes, notches, or clipped corners.
Inner sleeve is a standard white paper item.
I have not tried to clean the vinyl or the labels. Serious collectors usually have their own preferred methods they use to care for their records.
