Brazilian samba king Jorge Ben was a prolific artist who put out many albums, often with very similar names. He was a trailblazer who tore up the rule book as it was when he first emerged and brought all-new character and edge to the style in his own unique way. The hard-strumming groove specialist referenced everything from love to football to politics in his music and often rubbed the establishment up the wrong way when doing so. Ben is his ninth album and was released in 1972 with his most famous tune 'Taj Mahal' featuring next to 'Fio Maravilha' which pays homage to Flamengo's iconic striker (you guessed it) Fio Maravilha.
