GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge. I listen EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : s'incomincia con le note blues di una tromba con sordina con l'accompagnamento in sottofondo del basso, poi è il turno di "Caprichoso" piacevole brano fra calypso e le vene jazz degli strumenti a fiato. Nel secondo lato troviamo il sofisticato "Enigma Sideral" anch'esso con sonorità dal sapore jazz di sax e pianoforte. Si chiude con "Manila" caratterizzata da esotiche ed orientali atmosfere sonore con in sottofondo la percussività della grancassa o più esattamente della zabumba.

Notes : it starts with the blues notes of a muted trumpet with the accompaniment of bass in the background, then it is the turn of "Caprichoso" from the pleasing music between calypso and jazz veins by wind instruments. On the second side we find the sophisticated "Enigma Sideral" with sonorities from jazz flavors by sax and piano. It closes with "Manila" characterized by exotic and oriental sound atmospheres with the percussive bass drum, or more exactly the zabumba, in the background.
