An authentic, original copy of JOY DIVISION'S  "AN IDEAL FOR LIVING".

This is a magnificent copy of the 1978 UK masterpiece with the original 14” X 14” fold-out cover, which legend has that the band folded themselves. Sleeve art is the controversial “Hitler Youth Drummer Boy” drawn by Bernard Albrecht (Bernard Sumner). Only 1000 of these were pressed on the band's own Enigma label and they are incredibly scarce thirty three years later. This copy has come round to Reckless twice! It was first sold to a lovely lady from our UK location in 1994 and now she has brought it back in to our Chicago store. This is 100% the real deal and passes the check list of things to authenticate it.

• Pressed on black, heavy vinyl

• The labels are black paper with a matte finish and silver type

• There is a serrated edge around the label

• The gap between the copyright around the edge of the label and the vinyl is 1mm

• “EG” is printed in the run off area

• The imagery on the sleeve is in focus

• The poster sleeve is printed on matte paper

CONDITION: VG+

This is a really nice copy. The vinyl is very clean and shiny with only a few very small, faint marks to mention. These are truly very minuscule and only visible under bright grading lights. It visually looks like a NM-/ VG+. When played there is some background surface noise between the songs. This is really not distracting and the music sounds great.

Sleeve has held up great. There are some small handling dents (particularly up top). There is also some yellowing in the crease between the front and back cover- this is really only visible when the cover is completely folded out. There is a small rub mark at about the point of the top of the label on the cover, as well as three pin dots of discoloration between the drum and V of Division. These are very faint (please see photo) but want to mention. Overall the sleeve is still crisp and white and looks great.

This is a true rarity and one of the coolest things to come though our shop. Please give it a good home!
