Description

JOY DIVISION - an early pressing of "Closer" (FACTORY RECORDS - FACT 25)

The vinyl is visually Good/Very Good - light surface scratches. It plays perfectly - very loud and clear. It has "OLD BLUE?" etched in the runout of the first side.

NB - The disc appears to be pressed on standard black vinyl. However, if it is held up to a bright light it can be seen that it is actually translucent dark red vinyl - as was the case with some early U.K. pressings. (Some were on opaque black vinyl, some on translucent dark green.) 

The cover and inner sleeve are rough card. (Some were on smooth white card.) The soft white card cover has not aged well. Contact with the air has led to extensive foxing. The inner card cover has faired much better - just a few spots of foxing. It hasn't worn through at the bottom - no crumples or creases. It has rounded corners (some had straight right-angles corners).  Study the photos carefully.
