JOY DIVISION DURUTTI COLUMN A Factory Sample FAC 2 ORIG 1979 Singles + STICKERS
A FACTORY SAMPLE - FAC 2
Original 1979 Issue
Complete With Stickers
Here is a copy of the very rare original issue of ‘A Factory Sample’, the first vinyl release by Factory Records in 1979.
This consists of two 7” singles housed in a double, gatefold, paper picture sleeve.
Unusually, it is complete with the 5 stickers, still unused. It is rare to find with the stickers.
There have been a number of repro versions and/or bootlegs but this is an original, from 1979 and bought in Manchester at the time of release. I understand these were limited to 5000 copies.
It includes tracks by Joy Division, Cabaret Voltaire, Durutti Column & John Dowie.
The cover, designed by Peter Saville, is enclosed in plastic (which is why is appears quite rippled in the photographs).
Matrix numbers/run out groove markings:
side A FAC 2 - A1 EVERYTHING
side B FAC 2 - B1 IS REPAIRABLE
side C FAC 2 - C1 EVERYTHING
side D FAC 2 - D1 IS BROKEN
Issued by - Factory
Catalogue number - FAC2
Tracks:
- Joy Division - Digital/Glass
- Durutti Column - No Communication/Thin Ice (detail)
- John Dowie - Acne/Idiot/Hitler's Liver
- Cabaret Voltaire - Baader-Meinhof/Sex in Secret
Condition: EX The vinyl looks great, with little sign of play and no spindle marks around the label. The paper sleeve, sealed in polythene as issued, has a few creases but no tears. A really good copy of a very rare item.
The records are graded visually, using the Record Collector grading system (see below). Where applicable, the sleeve is graded first, followed by the vinyl.
Postage & Packing: £2.00 (UK), £4.00 (Rest of Europe), £6.00 (Worldwide).
I charge only actual cost of postage and packing and will seek most cost effective method. I am happy to combine items and pass on any saving. Proof of Posting is obtained for every item sent but on valuable or more expensive items, you might want to consider sending it signed for or tracked, which I can organise.
Payment: Paypal
Feedback: If you are happy with your item, please leave positive feedback and I will do the same. If, for any reason, you are not happy, please get in touch so I can attempt to resolve any concern.
Record Collector Grading System:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
