Description

J.R.R. TOLKIEN POEMS AND SONGS OF MIDDLE EARTH
Issue : RARE UK ORIGINAL PRESS        Label : CAEDMON         Catalogue No : TC 1231

This rare UK ORIGINAL press is on the earliest blue and gold Caedmon label. It is complete with the original laminated flipback sleeve. The LP features music by Donald Swan and directed by Howard Sackler. J.R.R. Tolkien reads from The Adventures of Tom Bombadil and Side Two is sung by William Elvin.

The vinyl is in Excellent condition. There is a sensational jet black gloss and no sign of heavy play at all. There are just a couple of very light marks and a couple of wispy hairlines. The labels are extremely clean with vivid blue and bright gold text. There is the slightest spindle wear.

The sound quality is Excellent. The vinyl sits completely flat on the turntable. The voice and piano are exceptionally sharp and clear, it sounds superb from start to finish.

The laminated flipback sleeve is in Excellent condition. The image is unworn, the black is solid and the colours are exceptionally bright. There is just the slightest wear to the back opening edge and a couple of very slight laminate creases. The back is also superb; the flipbacks are sealed and the white is bright and completely clean. The spine is firm with sharp text.
