Description

You are bidding on a very hard-to-find 4-LP boxed set of  THE HOBBIT by J.R.R. Tolkien. This was put out by Decca Records in 1974 on its Argo label (ZPL 1196/9). The form of the recording is a dramatic reading by noted British Shakespearean actor Nicol Williamson. The music used is derived from Medieval music with instruments including psaltry, harp, bass, shawms, flutes and a hurdy gurdy. There is an 8-page booklet which discusses Tolkien, The Hobbit, and the recording itself, and has a wonderful front cover photo of Tolkien. The box cover art is a painting by Tolkien. The box itself is in very good condition. The booklet and records are in EXCELLENT CONDITION. A true Middle Earth rarity! Please email me with any questions and thank you for your interest.
