JUICY LUCY Lie Back And Enjoy It (Vertigo 6360 014) RARE UK 1st Pressing Swirl EX++
RARE very first UK pressing of the second Juicy Lucy album "Lie Back And Enjoy It", released on Vertigo Records (October 1970).
"Heavily blues based, the band expanded into hard rock, psychedelia and early prog, playing mostly original material and superb arrangements of standards. This
album includes what is probably the best ever cover of Frank Zappa's tune "Willie The Pimp", which is absolutely incredible. Campbell's guitar work is simply
stunning and miles above anything done at the time. Williams' throaty vocals are superbly expressive, and all the other band members play incredibly well, turning
this album into a timeless masterpiece. In many respects this album encapsulates everything that was great in music by the end of the 1960s: originality,

GRADING:
EX+ COVER. Six part fold-out poster sleeve with very light wear. Please see photos for details.
- Minor edge wear at top.
- Slightest "chipping" along the outer edge of front sleeve, as well as a few small creases.
- One of the folding nodes (at center) is worn through, with a pin-size hole. Please see detailed photo.
- Other than that, the cover is in very nice overall condition.
- Also incudes the custom-printed Vertigo Records inner sleeve in EX condition, date-stamped "9/70" at bottom left. No seam splits.
EX RECORD, played a fair amount.
- Play-graded at high volume. Very fine audio reproduction throughout, with reservations as listed below.
- Sporadic background crackle in the run-in, as well as between tracks.
- General visible scuffing, especially to Side One. None of this however causes any serious crackle or any pops whatsoever.
- Side Two has mild hairlining, from sleeve removal only. One single scuff (1 inch long) is absolutely inaudible.
- Original UK first-pressing Vertigo Records swirl labels with spindle wear on both labels.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "6360014 1Y//1 420 1 1 1" and "6360014 2Y//2 420 1 1 1", indicating a very first UK pressing.
- This record is fully certified to be an original, very first UK pressing of "Lie Back And Enjoy It", released in October 1970.
