JUICY LUCY SELF TITLED ORIGINAL UK DEBUT 1969 VINYL LP ON THE VERTIGO RECORD LABELS VO 2– 847 901 VTY.

GUARANTEED ORIGINAL, COMPLETE AND A SUPERB EXAMPLE WITH RARE VERTIGO SWIRL BAG.

Juicy Lucy is a blues-rock band officially formed on 1 October 1969. After the demise of The Misunderstood, vocalist Ray Owen, steel guitarist Glenn Ross Campbell, and saxophone player Chris Mercer formed Juicy Lucy. The group later recruited guitarist Neil Hubbard, bassist Keith Ellis, and drummer Pete Dobson. The band name was inspired by a character in The Virgin Soldiers (1966) by Leslie Thomas. The band immediately notched a UK Top 20 hit with their cover version of the Bo Diddley composition "Who Do You Love?". Their self-titled debut album then fell just shy of the Top 40 in the UK Albums Chart. The album's cover featured a Burlesque Dancer named Zelda Plum, naked except for a covering of fruit.

The album is on the rare White **VERTIGO** Record Labels, with circled P date 1969, and with, A PHILIPS RECORD PRODUCT label print.

The LP comes in its original Vertigo Swirl Poly Lined Printed Bag and is housed in its original Vertigo Gatefold Sleeve.

The album plays without faults through all the Tracks.

Both record labels are in Mint Minus condition, beautiful clean record labels, showing only a couple of light signs of play to each centre.

The machine stamper information is as follows, side1, 847901 VO 1YA1 4201 1 3, side2, 847901 2Y2 , 420 1 1 5.

Both sides of the immaculate vinyl disc are in beautiful Mint Minus condition, super clean unmarked, glossy, heavy quality LP, with at most a couple of light superficial surface hairlines, this is a really well cared for vinyl disc.

The Vertigo Swirl inner bag is also a very nice example, NO writing, tearing, or seam splits, just light creasing and age toning to one edge more visible on one side only.

The Gatefold Picture Sleeve is a superb example in Excellent Plus condition. The sleeve is free from handwriting, tearing and seam splits, the Gatefold part of the sleeve is undamaged, as is the reverse.

A beautiful example of this rare 1969 original UK debut album release!
