Description

Jubilee LP 1009, pink and black label, original, deep groove. Pianist Kelly is accompanied by George Shaw, bass and Jack Saunders, drums. 12 tunes includes 4 solo tracks by Kelly. Flull title of the record is " The Most Beautiful Glirl In the World". 11 of the 12 tunes are familiar standards. Cover art by Burt Goldblatt. Fine graphics. Cover: VG 4" top edge split; 10" split the the spine. Some edge and corner wear. Name of previous owner is written in the top margin of the back cover. Fragment of price sticker on the back cover with 2 small tears (neither effects the text). Record: VG++ to Mint(-) Visually shows no wear. Possibly played 2 or 3 times only. A very few light and infrequent clicks and short crackles. These do not take away from the overall fine condition and sound of the record. It seems that the earlier Jubilee pressings are superior to the later issues in terms of surface noise and general sound quality. I have indicated a VG++ in the overall rating to account for the described surface noise. This audible noise is not a function of wear but minor flaws in the pressing. Audibly checked.
