Description
Jack Scott was a Canadian/American singer/songwriter born in Windsor, Ontario in 1936. He was born Giovanni Scafone and at the age of 10 his family moved to Detroit, Michigan. He grew up listening to hillbilly music and formed a group at the age of 18. Three years later however he adopted the name Jack Scott and started to record as a solo artist. He moved to the Carlton record label in 1958.
His first release with Carlton was a million seller double sided hit of "My True Love" backed by "Leroy". This went to no 9 in the UK charts in the Autumn of 1958 and both tracks are on this extended play album. The other two tracks are an up tempo "Good Bye Baby" and "With Your Love". Both these tracks were hits in the States but failed to make the UK charts.
Scott moved to Top Rank records in 1960 and had a string of further hits. His career continued well into the 1990s and he died of a heart attack in 2019.
This EP is a real collectors' record with 4 excellent tracks which all play well and the sleeve is in good condition, as can be seen in the photos.
