Description
Third Man Records took the playable etching vinyl one step further and used the same parts to make a limited-edition version of the “Saltines” 12-inch single. Not only is the etching playable, but the record itself is pressed on clear vinyl and filled with psychedelic blue liquid. While the soundtrack for the 1978 film The Black Hole was initially prototyped as a liquid-filled disc, problems with leakage prevented it from ever being released. The liquid-filled “Saltines” is the first-ever disc of its kind to be made available to the public.
My son and I waited on the sidewalk in front of Third Man Records from 4:30 pm on Friday afternoon (the day BEFORE Record Day), until 10 AM the next morning, which was record day and the time the limited number of 400 albums were released.... , in the pouring rain. I actually went and bought a small tent, and we camped out on the sidewalk outside Third Man Records. I attached a pic of that too.... I thought you might enjoy knowing what we went through to get this album (*haha) I recently lost my job, and am forced to sell it., I have attached a photo of my son holding his album outside Third Man Records, and I have also attached a picture showing some of the crowd awaiting the release of the albums, (in the rain). The album up for sale is mine, which has never been opened, and it is in MINT condition. There were only 400 of these albums available, and each person could only buy one vinyl album. I recently lost my job, and am forced to sell it.,
