Description
Prestige 7068, “Jackie’s Pal” with Jackie McLean (sax), Bill Hardman (trumpet), Mal Waldron (Piano), Paul Chambers (bass), and Philly Joe Jones (drums); from 1956. Original W. 50th St. label vinyl plays at NM with virtually no background sound; the LP shows no marks and seems barely played. “RVG” is pressed in the deadwax on both sides. The jacket is very well preserved, about VG++, with the only defects being some corner wear at top and bottom opening. Otherwise, seams are strong and without wear; corners are basically square; there is no ringwear; jacket back is very clean and white and does not even show age toning! Numbers are “Sweet Doll”, “It Could Happen to You”, “Just for Marty”, “Sublues”, and; “Steeplechase”; there is also a take of “Dee’s Dilemma” that bears comparison to the session on the “Mal-1” album. It would be difficult to find a better-preserved copy of this LP.
Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $18.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. A few record labels such as Folkways may be slightly more expensive to ship overseas. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $12.00 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
