Jackson Five "Big Boy" b/w "You've Changed"
45 rpm single on red Steeltown label (#45-681)
This is a copy of the Jackson Five's very first single: "Big Boy" on the A-side and "You've Changed" on the B-Side. I just finished listening to both sides, and this copy has some good & bad points. First, the bad news: someone wrote his/her initials on the A-side (D.H. is written in marker twice) -- see picture below. Secondly, this record has been played a lot and I don't think it's had a sleeve on it for quite some time, as there are surface scratches throughout. In fact, I would only give this a visual grade of good (G).
Here is the good news: the record does play through without any skips or major issues. There is some surface noise, of course, which you would expect with a record in this condition. However, it does not overpower the music and actually doesn't sound too bad on an ordinary stereo. If you're looking for a near-mint copy, this isn't it; but if you want a decent, playable copy for your collection, this will fill the void just fine.
This record was pressed when Atco was handling the distribution, and both sides have a line stating "Distributed by Atco Records, 1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.". Serial # is 45-681. The matrix numbers on the run-off vinyl are "STN-14006-11" and "STN-14007-11". Both sides feature Michael on vocals.
