(HMV ASD 655 UK LP 1965)
This is a UK original Stereo LP pressing. It has a front laminated flipback sleeve which has a small sized "Stereo" on the front. It has its original polythene-lined company "EMI" inner sleeve.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has red "semi circle" HMV labels. These have the "Sold in UK..." text too. It has 1st press 2YEA 1143-1G and 2YEA 1144-2G matrix stampers.
Sleeve: There is some light fading to the rear sleeve. There is a small stain on the top flipback. NEAR EX condition
Vinyl: There are some light to mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The polythene inner seeve has left some light or very light marks on the vinyl in a few areas. VG+ condition. The labels are in excellent+ condition & show very light spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in VG+ condition. There is some light to mild ringwear & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. Side 1 plays VG overall & VG+ in some places. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places. This is most noticeable near the start & near the end of the side. There are a very few mild clicks midway through Side 1 too.
Side 2 plays VG to VG+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places. Visually the disc looks quite nice & clean. Therefore most of the crackle is most likely caused by deep down dirt in the grooves. It would definitely benefit from a professional clean. I believe that it would play much better thereafter.
