ULTRA RARE - BANDED - WHITE LABEL PROMO - EARLY - JAMES BROWN - COLLECTIBLE !!
This is an original 1963 promotional vinyl album by James Brown. This crazy rare LP " The Apollo Theatre Presents - in Person! The James Brown Show " (826) is on the white label promo King label with No crown. This is the extremely hard to find version that is BANDED to help with programming for air-play. The vinyl is in VG+ condition with some marks, almost all of these are surface only and the couple others that are not are minor and very shallow, it plays nice. Both labels have writing on them with red ink, side one : " Do not play cut 6 " , side two : " Do not play cut 1 ". Those written remarks are for DJ's because of track content, NOT condition problems. This is the original cover with the custom back, with no adds for other albums. The cover has a large promo timing strip on the front. The cover is in VG condition with major seam splits on the top and bottom (these are NOT total splits). The spine is in great condition with no problems. The front and timing strip are very nice with NO writing, tears, ring wear, and very little wear of any kind. The only thing that's really an issue is two pieces of clear tape that are on the bottom edge that show on the front and back. The back side is also really nice with just a tiny bit of super slight wear, the same tape being the only real issue. As you can see in the pictures, if not for the tape and seam splits this cover would be quite clean. This album is ranked #24 of the top 500 LP's of all time by Rolling Stone magazine and the classic early funk infused soul is James Brown at his peak and makes for fantastic listening.
