James P Johnson performs "The Harlem Strut" and Fletcher Henderson performs "Unknown Blues" on the incredibly rare Black Swan 2026. Both sides are clean, clear and unblemished, and play beautifully. The Henderson side is about E- and the Johnson side is about V++, meaning that there is only the slightest hiss behind the performance, though it's certainly a clean recording and performance, and not hindered in any way. These are clean and clear recordings and very strong - despite the rather inferior surfaces of the Black Swan label, 78 rpm. NOTE: This is a consigned item owned by one of America's formost collectors. It is a fine collection worthy piece, and the owner has requested a minimum reserve of $100.00 on the item.
