Description
From the archives of a noted Australian rock’n’roll and entertainment historian comes this great piece of 60s Australian garage rock. James Taylor Move. Magic Eyes / And I Heard The Fire Sing. PROMO 45 Single. Australian pressing. August 1967 Festival FK-1892. A classic of Australian psychedelic rock. Very brief 1967-68 period of the band’s existence. Based in Adelaide, where they won the State level of the Hoadley’s Battle Of The Bands, and recorded this single (co-written by leading singer Robert John Taylor). A second single, Baby Jane, followed in October 1967 but by the middle of 1968 Taylor had left to be replaced by Wendy Saddington. The record is in Very Good Plus condition, appears very lightly played. On Side One, there appears to be a pressing defect; visually, it looks like one of the grooves is briefly marked differently, like a semi-circular scratch following the groove, but it has no effect on playing. Festival paper sleeve has some paper loss but otherwise Very Good condition. Check my other auctions for rarities and extremities including early Australian and NZ pressings including test pressings and acetates, UK punk, The Smiths 12 inch singles, original French pressings of 60s R&B including an ultra-rare Shirelles on Vogue, US psychedelic, and a whole lot more.
