Description

Jan Dukes de Grey - Sorcerers 12 " vinyl LP original 1st Pressing. Condition is "Used". Dispatched with Royal Mail 1st Class.
This is an original 1st Pressing of Jan Dukes de Grey in very good condition overall considering its age.
Matrix No. Side1 ZAL 9272P - 1W. 9272 is the file number for the master tape used. 1 = The running number of the master lacquer made in the lathe machine from the master tape. The higher the number, the later a master laquer is used. W = Harry Fisher, the engineer who created the master lacquer and supervised the whole process up to the stampers.
At 9 Oclock to the matrix is stamped 1 = The 1st mother used to make the stamper.
At 3 Oclock to the matrix is stamped U. Decca used the word "Buckingham" for numbering the stamper. The 1st Stamper to be made from the mother has the letter B and so on. This has the letter U so that would be the second stamper
At 12 O'clock Position is JT and ET the other side. This denotes the year the LP was pressed. JT = 1969 ET = From 1960

Side 2 At 6 O'clock = ZAL 9237.P 1 W. B side has normally one higher 1= 1st master lacquer made in the lathe machine fro the master tape. W = Harry Fisher At 9 O'clock = 1. The 1st mother to make the stamper. At 3 O'clock to the matrix is stamped "c" = The 3rd stamper to be made from the mother.
I've included all this info just to show you that its a very early 1st pressing.
The record is in very good condition, no major scratches but a few light scuffs. Plays well on my system but there is a few rice crispie background noise, I put this down to ingrained dirt, it is 50 odd years old. So the record could do with a good professional clean. It doesn't skip, or stick.
The outer sleeve is in very good condition with very light wear on the edges and light crease on the corners. There are a couple of light crease on the front of the sleeve.
Inner sleeve is in good condition which has the blue indicators which denote its the stereo version.
I've tried to do an honest grading of this record but we are all prone to overlooking things. Please feel free to contact me if you any questions.
There are loads of re-issues about but not many 1st pressings so grab a rarity
I'm only posting within the UK. 1st Class Royal mail
