Description

Til Vigdis Jan Garbarek Norway jazz 1967 Det norske studentersamfund/NJF, NJFLP1 Stereo, record m cover nm/vg++ (has some very few scuffs in corners and a very small little tear on upper part of cover) This is the holy grail of Norwegian jazz, Til Vigdis by Jan Garbarek Trio and Quartett. Released in 1967 on Det norske studentersamfund/NJF, NJFLP1 Stereo, the debut album to Jan Garbarek was only pressed in 500 copies. It features Jan Garbarek on sax, Per Løberg on bass, Jon Christensen on drums in his trio playing the 18.30 minute long MR.J.C by Coltrane and the B-side features American Frank Phipps on trombone, Arild Andersen on bas, Jon Christensen on Drums and Jan Garbarek on sa playing Freedom jazz dance by Eddie Harris and Garbareks first compostion and titttle track Til Vigdis. This record has amazing liner notes by Karin Krog and Arne Schanche Andresen. Recording by Hallvard Kvåle Cover design and phot by Jan Knutzen. The record has never been played and is in mint condition. The record has stood in an archive for 40 years and never been touched, the cover is still hard and thick and feels like when you bought it from a record store in 1967. This is probably the only copy of this record in unplayed condition and is simply an amazing collectable from the period where Garbarek sounded more like Coltrane and Albert Ayler than himself.
