Description

An original and genuine 1st issue from '71. So, they made plenty of copies at 1st issue...loads! But the issue I tend to find with most copies is the pressing weight. They pumped out loads of light weight pressings. What you really need to find are the 160gram copies...I've only ever managed to find TWO~! But this is one of them. Comes housed in a heavy card cover.
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) In lovely condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Super lustre. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of very slight marks and one superficial trail - nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAREXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations per side. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Not clean enough to hit the top grades - but for most folks this level will be more than adequate. Because it is deep grooved....you will get a great and pretty clean rendition of Bobby McGee. On most copies this track has been murdered because it is so popular. A couple of minor ticks and a couple of minor ticks at the outset - then it totally aces it! Mercedes - which is usually a bit crappy plays well just a few crackles and a couple of ticks in a couple of spots. A few crackles in 'Cry Baby' quiet spots but plays well. This copy can certainly be cranked.  A very decent standard.
Cover (Vg) Not up to the standard of the vinyl - but perfectly acceptable. Good surfaces with minimal creasing. A good bit of edge wear in places, but no wear-through. The spine has faded but text mostly legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
