Description
Up for sale is a lot of two vintage Janis Joplin vinyl records. Included in this lot is the Janis Joplin's Greatest Hits album (catalog #PC 32168) and Pearl (catalog #PC30322/KC 30322*). Both records exhibit a fair amount of wear and tear/scuff marks/etc. appearing throughout the front and back of the cover artwork on the albums themselves and sometimes along the spleens. Both of these records had been sitting in a shelf cabinet for the past few decades collecting quite a bit of dust. I've decided it's time to sell them due to a recent death in the family which has left me with a lot of expenses to cover.

The matrix number for this album is stamped out (or typewritten) as P AL-32168-1AC on Side 1 of the record in the innermost groove and P BL 32168-1AA on Side 2. There's also a mark that resembles a handwritten T following these numbers on either side of the record. Side 2 has a prominent scratch that starts at about the area between the U and M in the upper right Columbia logo surrounding the label while side 1 has a few noticeable scratches on it as well, but they're not as deep nor as long. There's also some wear in the center on either side of the record from general play. This album's inner sleeve also has some wear and tear on it; appearing in the form of yellowing on the otherwise white paper along with a rip along the edge, which causes the record to poke out; however, despite of this blemish, the record itself can still be stored safely in this sleeve. This record is in stereo and bears a copyright date of 1973 along with a patent date of 1972. It was manufactured by Columbia Records and CBS, Inc.
The other record; The Janis Joplin/Full Tilt Boggie Pearl album has a sticker on the upper left corner of the front cover with a catalog number that reads PC 30322, however, on the back it is listed as KC 30322... which is a bit odd, because the original catalog number for this album was the one with the KC prefix, and that's exactly what's written on the record album inlay itself... so it just looks like they just tacked on the sticker on the front for no apparent reason whatsoever, other than the manufacturer was just being lazy or saving on costs to reprint the whole album over again in order to reflect the a strange catalog number that hasn't been accounted for (I looked this up on Discogs!) Anyways, this album is also in stereo and the track listings are as follows...

There is a matrix number handwritten on the innermost groove of side 1 that reads: PAL30322-2A which is preceded by a more typewritten looking letter T, while the number on side 2 reads PBL 30322 2-B; once again preceded by the letter T in a more stamped looking font, rather than the usual handwritten etched one. There is also what appears to be a ding or slight dent located on the innermost groove on side 2 located towards the lower right side. This dent does not go through the record or anything, but it's noticeable when held up to the light. It shouldn't affect the actual playback, as it's located in the terminal grooves of the record. This album also shares the same state of wear and tear to it as the other one; once again with some rips on the inner sleeve, which is still perfectly usable, but yellowed and worn. There also seems to be no clear indication as to when this album was released (or re-released, for that matter). It is her last album and was originally released in 1971.
