**Why This Copy**

Promotional vinyl pressings of late 90s hip-hop are a distinct and growing collector category. The "Not For Sale" designation is documented provenance - this copy went to a DJ, radio station, or press outlet before the public release date. The original December 1999 hype sticker surviving intact 25 years later is genuinely uncommon. Sterling Sound mastering by Tom Coyne is the original pressing identifier. This is a significant record in Jay-Z's catalog - Vol. 3 was his fourth studio album, debuted at number one, and contains Big Pimpin', one of the most recognizable rap tracks ever made.
