PROPRIUS PROP 7778-70 (Swedish Import, Audiophile)
Arne Domnérus (born 20 December 1924), born Sven Arne Domnérus, is a Swedish jazz alto saxophonist and clarinetist born in Solna Municipality, Stockholm, Sweden, most notable for his Swedish recordings with jazz artists such as James Moody, Art Farmer and Clifford Brown.
Domnérus worked with the Swedish Radio Big Band from 1956-1978, and wrote for television and films during the period. He has also recorded extensively with Bengt Hallberg.
Together with fellow Swedes Bengt-Arne Wallin, Rolf Ericson and Ake Persson (the latter two both ex-Duke Ellington's Orchestra), he participated at the Jazz Workshops, organised for the Ruhrfest in Recklinghausen by Hans Gertberg from the Hamburg radio station.
Jazz At The Pawnshop was recorded at the Pawnshop Jazz Club in Stockholm on 6th & 7th December 1976. A well-sought after audiophile material from Proprius. The sonics bear the experience of actually being there at the venue. Excellent music to boot too! Unmatched quality both sound recording and music excellence.
