Description
Hugely rare 10-inch boogie woogie releases on Vogue Records released around 1956 and featuring stellar jazz pianists 'Cripple' Clarence Lofton and Jimmy Yancey - Jazz Immortals No 1 (Vogue L.D.E. 122) and Jazz Immortals No 2 (Vogue L.D.E. 166) respectively.
Extraordinary condition considering these records are 64 years old - the front laminated flipback sleeves are excellent (the Lofton sleeve has a tiny tear at the opening edge and a name written in pencil on the back, the Yancey sleeve is pretty much flawless), and the vinyl is VG+ at least. A few marks and scuffs but nothing serious, and both play through well with just a little occasional surface noise.
Excellent labels.
The Yancey disc has a shaped plastic inner.
Great find for jazz and boogie woogie collectors - these guys are HOT!
