Description
1966 jazz LP Chico Hamilton The Dealer VG + Vinyl, Cover. I believe it is a second pressing or issue, circa 1967. The vinyl and cover could have easily been graded Excellent, but the jazz audiophile is a different kind of animal so I am being ultra conservative. The vinyl has one or two light lines per side, one is more scuff like (side two through Larry of Arabia) and one very light scratch at the end of The Trip and into Baby, You Know. Neither of these imperfections affect play. No snaps, crackles or pops. The cover has one imperfection front cover, bottom left on spine, a small fray. The back cover has a couple of fray marks, upper left top along with slight ringwear. The inner cover has a few light black splotches, left side between the Impulse logo and Chico's head, small in size, guess you could call them age spots.
This is a great example of cool jazz and free form jazz. It features the first recording of guitar virtuoso Larry Coryell, who would go on to have a successful career spanning six decades. It also showcases saxophonist Archie Shepp, playing piano on his contribution, For Mods Only.
