Description
Here’s a rare original pressing of “Brilliant Corners” by Thelonious Monk. This is a very rare original pressing from 1957 on the Riverside white and blue “reels and mic” label, number 12-226. The vinyl is worn and has a fair amount of scratches, but I played it through and did not notice any skipping, at least on my record player… please note that every record player is different. There is a scratch parallel to the grooves on the last track that is definitely audible for a few rotations, but once again it did not skip on my player. The cover has a tear at the bottom center and some residue from old tape around the edges. Small 1” seam split on the top. Features Sonny Rollins, Ernie Henry, and Clark Terry. Definitely not a copy for a retentive collector, but nevertheless 1st pressings of this album are tough to come by in any condition! Drop me a message if ebay doesn’t calculate shipping for you.
