This album is # 1062 signed by producer Norman Granz.

The album was technologically fascinating in 1949, a 78 RPM six-disk, full-page photo-rich album recorded on an unbreakable vinyl based material, unlike 78s to date.  Records and photo pages are held in album via a metal binding that opened and closed (We did not try that).  The ease at the time of removing the pictures is why it will be unusual to find one that is complete.  The sleeves holding the records were also loose-leafed as to encourage removing individual ones temporarily, as to take to a party, compromising the condition. 

Overall condition is gracefully aged. Text pages. blank pages and photo page backs are gently foxed.

Black cloth hard cover shows deferential aging in shadings of black.  Corners not appreciably dented.  We did not play the records to list this.  Disks One and Six look to have been played or handled with light surface scratching.  The others resemble unplayed records.  One label on Disk 6 has tiny label chipping to the thin label material so the black vinyl shows through. The backs of a few photo pages show discoloration near the upper edges. A few photo pages have corner creasing. Ring wear shows on pages facing the disk sleeves.  We did our best to include anything obvious in condition issues.

Norman Granz's  The Jazz Scene appears complete, with 30 full page photo portraits and one drawing; taken together in gracefully aged condition. Anything we noticed on the disks and album and pages we tried to specify.  

This was my mother's album.  She owned the Trudy Whyte Record Shop in Racine, Wisconsin (1947-69) and acquired it when it was released.  

Fast, well packed ship-out.  Domestic Priority included. Feel free to ask questions.
