Description

This is a programme from the JATP 1953 concert in Stockholm. It's signed by all the musicians at the concert plus by Norman Granz the promoter and record label boss. Each page has a  monochrome photograph with Swedish text below (though Ella gets a double page spread). Signatures are on or at the edge of the photos. Where there is a light grey background the autographs are very clear- see the photos- but Lester Young's photo has a dark background- the autograph is clearly visible on the page though more difficult to see on the photo I've uploaded. (You can see a trace above the 'S'.)
Autographs are by: Norman Granz, Ella Fitzgerald, Lester Young, Flip Phillips, Wille Smith, Charlie Shavers, Oscar Peterson, Barney Kessel, Hank Jones, Ray Brown, Gene Krupa, JC Heard- who signs 'JC James C Heard.'
The programme was purchased from a bookshop in Stockholm; although I have no direct provenance I am convinced of its authenticity- I've compared many of the autographs with examples from elsewhere.
NB I have other autographed jazz items; contact me if you are interested.
