Description
Almost fifty years ago, back in1970, few had heard of up and coming songwriter, Jeff Lynne - so few, in fact, that when a singer going solo from his successful band recorded one of Jeff's songs, the record label called him 'Lynn'. That record label was Gemini and his song, 'Follow Me, Follow', which would become better known by the Idle Race, was the first release on the new label, recorded by the singer Sheridan - who was Mike Sheridan, a big deal in Birmingham rock music circles, with his group the Nightriders, who would end up joining Jeff Lynne to form the Idle Race. Sheridan also had links to The Move, through Lynne and Rick Price, with whom he would record an album. Phew! So that's pretty much the story of this piece of pop-rock history on offer here in excellent condition all round, Gemini label's first single, GMS001, 'Follow Me, Follow' by Sheridan.Sheridan's real name is Tyler and the B side of this single, 'When Love Breaks Your Heart', is written by an A Tyler - Mike's alias, maybe...…...what's more, this record is a promo copy, with a large A showing as much on the centre spindle - by the way, no spindle wear of any note, here. Lovely copy all round and an intriguing part of rock history.
