Product Description
Exceptional original pressing of Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of 'The War of the Worlds', the groundbreaking 1978 concept album that transformed H.G. Wells' classic science fiction novel into a progressive rock masterpiece. This CBS Records double LP features the iconic Martian fighting machine artwork and remains one of the most celebrated sci-fi musical adaptations ever created.
This collectible album features:
- Star-studded cast including Richard Burton, Julie Covington, David Essex, and Justin Hayward
- Complete gatefold sleeve with stunning Michael Trim artwork depicting Martian invasion scenes
- Original CBS orange label pressing with catalogue numbers S CBS 82671/2
- Classic tracks including 'Forever Autumn' and 'The Eve of the War' highlighted on cover sticker
- Full lyric booklet with detailed story synopsis and dramatic illustrations
- Stereo recording showcasing Jeff Wayne's orchestral arrangements and synthesizer work
The vinyl shows typical signs of play with some surface marks and light scratches but remains in good playable condition. The gatefold cover displays edge wear and corner bumping consistent with age, while the inner booklet is complete and intact.
