Description

Here's a a highly collectible 1967 mono vinyl LP by Jefferson Airplane, titled "Surrealistic Pillow." This album is considered to be one of the most influential and quintessential works of the early psychedelic rock era and 1960s counterculture.  Pressed on black vinyl, this LP features folk rock, psychedelic rock, and acid rock in Mono.
The 12" vinyl disc is grated Very Good Plus (VG+), while the original cardboard LP jacket sleeve, showcasing the iconic artwork that reflects the era of the 1960s is graded Very Good (VG) due to some shelf wear, damage along the spline and splitting along the top edge.  The front face of the cover is quite nice and doesn't really exhibit any ring wear which is remarkable for a 59 year old LP.  The original paper RCA Victor branded inner sleeve is included.  Please see the detailed photos included in this listing.

From Wikipedia... Surrealistic Pillow is the second studio album by the American rock band Jefferson Airplane, released on February 1, 1967, by RCA Victor. It is the first album by the band with vocalist Grace Slick and drummer Spencer Dryden. The album peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 and has been certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).  t is considered to be one of the most influential and quintessential works of the early psychedelic rock era and 1960s counterculture.

Just as The Beach Boys gave listeners a glimpse of southern California surf culture in the early 1960s, Jefferson Airplane's Surrealistic Pillow painted a musical picture of the free-thinking Summer of Love. [...] Like fellow San Franciscans The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane combined the folk esthetic and some of its form with a determinedly electric approach.

Yoshi Kato of San Jose Mercury News, as quoted from the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (2005)
I played both sides of this LP completely through on my audio-technica AT-LP60XBT turntable without issues. It sounds really great!  There are some occasional ticks & pops in quieter portions of the recording but nothing that overwhelms enjoyment of the music.  This is great late 60's San Francisco Psychedelic Rock.
