Original 1st US RCA Victor Monaural pressing of Jefferson Airplane’s 2nd studio album, the masterpiece under the title “Surrealistic Pillow”, released in February 1967. “Surrealistic Pillow” was the band’s 1st album with Grace Slick without whose vocals this album would be hard to imagine. The album not only occupied the 3rd place in the Billboard chart but also acquired the Platinum status. “Surrealistic Pillow”, with its tracks including “Somebody To Love” and “White Rabbit”, is considered to be one of the most influential works of the early 60s psychedelic rock. I think that it’s simply impossible to find the 1st Mono pressing copy in a factory sealed condition. “Surrealistic Pillow” is included in the Rolling Stone Magazine’s “500 Greatest Rock Albums of All Time” list. We’re impressed by the condition of this brilliant Mint copy and almost completely sure that this copy contains the original 1st print RCA Victor “Monaural” black labels with the “Skip Spencer” credit for the “My Best Friend” (A3) track which was very quickly corrected to “Skip Spence”. Alexander “Skip” Spence was the initial drummer who left the band in the middle of 1966. The front cover contains an original perforated record store sticker whose stab in the middle was unfortunately removed along the perforation. The bottom left corner indicates the Mono catalog number “LMP-3766” which can also be found on the back cover as well as the spine. The back cover contains the track listing, the names of the band members, the address of the Jefferson Airplane Fan Club as well as the “© 1967, Radio Corporation of America, Printed in U.S.A.” and “Public performance clearance – BMI” credits at the bottom. The shrink wrap with the original factory breathe holes on the front and back cover is fully intact and doesn’t have any tears, splits or missing pieces.
