Description
Seller is the Original Owner, and received this LP as a promotional copy from the label at the time of its release. The disc was visually inspected and appears to be in NM condition. The disc has rare non-standard WHITE LABELS used on albums destined for radio DJs, record stores/buyers, and media personnel to promote a new release. These are typically first pressing copies, which are coveted by collectors.
These statements appear at the bottom of the WHITE LABELS:
“Loaned For Promotion Only Not For Sale”
“Ownership And All Rights Reserved”
The cover is in VG+ condition, with some shelf wear and a crease in the lower right corner. It has a clipped corner in the upper right, to designated it as a promotional album.
It has the original custom inner sleeve, which has a clipped corner but no seam splits. The sleeve is blank/grey on one side and features lyrics on the other side. Please zoom in on the provided photos to see the overall condition of this item.
(Wikipedia Excerpts) “Cats Under the Stars” is the only studio album by the American rock band the Jerry Garcia Band. Released in 1978 on Arista Records, the album was the first release by the group, which was a long-running side project of Grateful Dead singer and guitarist Jerry Garcia. "Cats Under the Stars" peaked at No. 114 on the Billboard 200. “Cats Under the Stars” contained all new original material. Many Deadheads and critics alike feel as if "Cats Under the Stars" is Garcia's best non-Dead effort.

I have recently begun to list my 2500+ record collection on Ebay, so please check back occasionally to see my new listings. My collection has been securely boxed and stored in a smoke free environment since 1983. Most of my vinyl records have never been played, and many have their original shrink wrap. Seller was in the retail record business in the 1970's-1980's and acquired many promotional and collectible LPs from that era.
Grading methodology is as follows:
M (MINT) - Album is brand new, sealed, and has never been played.
NM (NEAR MINT) - Vinyl looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap. LP cover may have some light rub marks.
VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) - Vinyl may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned corners, or a slight seam split. May have slight signs of wear also may be marred by a cut out hole, sawcut, or cut corner indicating it is a promotional copy.
VG (VERY GOOD) - Vinyl has light wear, scratches, or scuffs. Covers may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, etc.
