The MacNeill Press Matt Sleeve is in EX Condition, the plain inner is in EX Condition & the Record is in EX+ Condition. With great tracks from Jethro Tull including; 'To Cry You A Song & Nothing To Say'. With the original Green Chrysalis & Island White i Labels, the ILPS 9123 catalogue numbers and the A-2 B-1 Matrices & 1-2-17 1-2-3 Stampers of the 1st Presses. Description
Original UK Chrysalis/Island white i label stereo press LP.The third studio album from Jethro Tull was recorded between September 1969 and February 1970 and released in April 1970. The band were touring the US at the time and wanted a more live feel to the album. John Evan also guested on the keyboards and finally joined the band full time after its release. The album was a success reaching no.4 in the UK and they played the Isle Of Wight Festival in August that year.
This is the original issue with white 'i' on the label, the black logo and the ILPS 9123 catalogue numbers on the sleeve, with the earliest A-2 B-1 matrix numbers and 1-2-17 1-2-3 stampers.
The MacNeill Press matt sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner/edge wear and some tape residue/scuffing on the opening edge of the cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the plain inner is intact, discoloured and in VG+ condition. The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines or scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of one or two faint spindle markings. The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief background noise during the run in grooves. Overall, a really great, loud & clear listen. The matrix nos. are; ILPS-9123, A//2 stamper 1-2-17, B//1 stamper 1-2-3. This is one of the early copies of the 1st press of the original 1970 UK stereo issue of this album.
